Cannula Tubing
Author: admin

I have a few questions about a laparoscopy. Any help is appreciated!?
Ok so I might be having a laparoscopy done and I have a few questions.
Some of them are a little gross but I’ve been reading stuff online and don’t really know what’s up.
The procedure is being done to look for endometriosis and pelvic pain problems.
1) Do you have to do an enema before the surgery?
2) Do they put you asleep (anesthesia) before they insert the unterine manipulator?
3) Is the airway tube for your throat inserted after you go to sleep?
4) Do they use a catheter? And if so do they insert that after going to sleep?
5) Do they put the cannula(the tube inserted in your down there part) after you fall asleep?
6) How long was it before you went back to work?
Also, any other tips or knowledge that you can share are helpful.
Thank you.
I had two laparoscopies done due to Endometriosis.
1) I never had an enema before either surgery
2) yes they put you to sleep before cutting you open
3) the airway tube is also inserted after you are asleep
4) with me I was not giving a catheter
Here is my memories of the procedure: I went into a room got on to the table and counted to 10 and then I remember waking up and that was it.
For a regular laposcopic I was back to work a day or two later
for the laser laposcopic I was about 3-5 days before I returned to work.
It didnt hurt and the scars are hardly noticable the only discomfort is due to the gas they put in you so they can see better, which causes ( sounds weird) shoulder pain which can be fairly painfull for the first few days. If you have any other question or concerns feel free to message me or respond to this and I’ll get back to you
