The New Gourmet Herb Seed Kits From Aerogarden
I recently just tried out the gourmet herb seed kits that aerogarden have got back in stock and they are pretty good! I’d got a bit bored of the chilli peppers I’d been growing, especially as I’m not the biggest fan of spicy food, don’t ask me why I decided to grow them in the first place. Guess I just wanted to try something new. Anyway back to the main point of the article, I decided to give the gourmet herbs a go as they had a good selection (cilantro, parsley, mint, chives, italian basil and a few others) and I reckoned I would use them a lot more than I had the chilli peppers. I usually cook a lot of pasta or meat and it’s nice to have your own herbs to season or cook with them.
I was pretty impressed with the delivery, it went by royal mail 1st class and arrived 2 days after I ordered it (along with some extra sweets which was nice). So anyway I got the herb kit set up and within a week it was sprouting and already growing some leaves! The italian basil was particularly impressive, with some massive leaves growing after about 2 weeks.
When I had a couple of problems with the aerogarden it was really easy to give them a ring and find out how best to sort it out. The first problem I though I had made me feel a bit silly, I rang them in a big panic as I realised the pump wasn’t running. Only once they had told me that the pump doesn’t run 24/7 did I realise I noticed this ages ago. Apparently it’s only on the salad greens setting that the pump runs continuously.
The Aerogarden is also nice and quiet, it hardly makes any noise and the lights are bright, but as long as you don’t have it right next to your bed it’s hardly going to bother you much.
All in all it’s a good product and I’d recommend it to anyone interested in growing their own produce.
